Mr Lim sets the overall vision for the Company, oversees its entry into new businesses and the building of new tankers. Mr Lim founded the Company together with his father in 1981 with 2 steel tankers on time charter to Esso and has more than 40 years’ experience in the shipping and bunkering industries. He is personally involved in the design of new buildings which Hong Lam Marine has commissioned and delivered since 2001.
Mr Lim serves as Director of IBIA (Asia) Ltd and is a member of Asia and Australia Committee of Classification Society of Bureau Veritas, Singapore Technical Committee of Nippon Kaiji Kyokai and Board of International Bunker Association (IBIA).
Ms Yang started her career with Hong Lam Marine and was our in-house counsel from 1991 to 2002. She has more than 25 years’ experience in the shipping industry. In addition to her role as Chief Executive, she directly oversees the Legal, Safety & Training and Human Resources functions. Ms Yang graduated with Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from University of London and Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from National University of Singapore in 1990. She passed Bar Exams of England and Wales in 1991 and called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1992. She subsequently passed Bar Exams of Singapore in 1992 and called to the Bar of Singapore in 1995. She is a member of the Singapore Academy of Law. She is a council member in Singapore Shipping Association and is the chairman of its Marine Fuels Committee.
Ms Yang was appointed Executive Director of our Company in 2002 and is re-designated as Chief Executive on 1 February 2018.
Mr Goon joined Hong Lam Marine in 1984, and has more than 30 years’ experience in the shipping industry. He was previously Head of Chartering and responsible for overseeing chartering related matters of our company and is now focused on relationship management with key customers and stakeholders. He is a member of the Services Committee of the Singapore Shipping Association.
Mr Goon was appointed Executive Director of our Company in 1992.
Mr Tay started his career with Hong Lam Marine in 2005 and has rotated through various departments, focusing on chartering, operations and marine personnel. He graduated with a Diploma in Business Administration in 2006 and subsequently obtained an Advanced Diploma in Shipping Management and Law in 2007. He is responsible for operations and marine personnel of our Company. He is a member of the Ship Operations & Port Services Sub-Committee in Singapore Shipping Association.
Mr Tay was appointed Executive Director of our Company on 1 January 2017.
Chief Financial Officer
Mr Tan started his career in audit with PricewaterhouseCoopers (Singapore) in 2003 and worked in Transaction Services in PricewaterhouseCoopers (China) for a year. He joined Hong Lam Marine in 2011 as Financial Controller. He is responsible for all finance-related functions, including treasury and tax matters of our Company. He graduated with a Bachelor in Business (Banking & Finance)(Honours) from Nanyang Technological University in 2003 and subsequently completed the Chartered Financial Analyst program. He holds an Executive MBA from Nanyang Technological University. He is a Fellow of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a Chartered Accountant (Singapore) of Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants.
Mr Tan was appointed Chief Financial Officer of our Company on 1 February 2018.
Mr Yeo joined Hong Lam Marine in 2010, on a part-time basis as a consultant on technical matters and projects. An engineer by training, Mr Yeo worked in the Marine and Oil industry for over 40 years and held various management positions in Singapore, USA, Australia and Taiwan. Mr Yeo brings extensive experience, technical knowledge and fresh perspectives to Hong Lam Marine. Mr Yeo was previously Executive Director of our Company since 2011 and is re-designated as Advisor of our Company on 1 February 2018. He is responsible for procurement, IT and the Workshop.
Mr Choo joined Hong Lam Marine in year 1984 and has more than 30 years’ experience in the shipping industry. He was previously Executive Director of our Company since 1992 and is responsible for all operational matters of the tankers. In addition, he was appointed General Manager for our Hong Kong operations previously where he was responsible for marketing and administration functions. He stepped down as Executive Director in 2011 and was re-designated as Advisor. He currently leads the newbuilding and digitalisation projects.
Mr Kee joined Hong Lam Marine in year 2011 as Advisor and has more than 40 years’ experience in the shipping industry. He has held management positions with various shipping companies since 1987 and last held the position of Managing Director of Brostrom Tankers Singapore in 2008 where he was responsible for the management of owning and operating clean petroleum and chemical tankers trading in the South East Asia region. He advises on specific vessel operational matters of our Company.
